It's a brand new year!! What shall we do with it?

2018 was a pretty great year!! I have enjoyed reflecting on the year as I look forward to 2019!

It’s a new year and time for some new goals for 2019!!

As in the past several years I set the goal of running 1,000 miles.

In 2018 I set the goal again even though I hadn't yet met the goal.

This year I finally for the first time ever reached 1,000 miles!!!

I actually ran a few more miles after making the Strava video for a total of 1,057 miles!!

I am so proud of this!! I still can't believe that I even run let alone run 1,000 miles!!

It amazes me to review my miles year after year. I can't believe I have been running for six years already, I still feel like a new runner!!

2018 – 1,057 miles
Having a goal and not meeting it for years then finally meeting is so powerful!! Just because you don’t meet your goal the first time you attempt something doesn’t mean it’s time to give up and stop trying!

I attended a leadership conference recently and at the end we were given this great pep talk don’t stop, don't give up, keep trying! This rings true for any goal you may have!!

In 2018 I also turned 40 and so I set the crazy goal of running my first marathon!!

I did that which was an incredible, incredible, feat!

While I was at it I decided to go ahead and sign up for a 40k and 50k. I mean why not??

The 50k was stopped when we reached mile 20 due to the weather so I will have to redeem myself in that distance soon.

The 40k became a little bit complicated because the course had to change also due to the weather. We did two loops of the half marathon course so it was almost a full marathon! I’m super proud of that accomplishment as well!!!

For 2019 I have set all kinds of goals, personal goals, professional goals, health and fitness goals.

Here are just a few:

1 - Run 1,000 miles

2 - Run another Marathon, as part of the Backyard to Vineyard Challenge at the Asheville Marathon. This is the half marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday!

3 - Finish our home renovations

4 - De clutter as I move our things back into our newly updated home.

5- Choose healthy food options more often then unhealthy options

6 - Begin my pursuit of a masters degree

7 - Continue on my Financial Peace Journey following Dave Ramsey‘s principles

I have set some pretty lofty goals but I have a well defined plan of how I will meet them and will review them each day as I cross them off my list one by one!!

I love making goals and setting my intentions for the year. It helps keep me focused, moving forward and growing!

What goals do you have for 2019? Dream Big!! Don't Stop, Don't Give Up, Keep Trying!!!

Blessings to you in the New Year!!
